Cashless Payment on Regensburg City Buses
- On Regensburg city buses, you can purchase RVV single and day tickets at the ticket terminal on the bus – completely cashless.
- Contactless and cashless payment works with your debit card, credit card, or your cell phone (Apple Pay and Google Pay).
- For those who do not have their own bank card, there is the RVV prepaid card – e.g. ideal for children.

How To Top Up Your Prepaid Card
- You can easily top up your prepaid card online.
- We can also add credit to your prepaid card at all card issuing locations.
- You can choose from top-up amounts of EUR 5, EUR 15, EUR 30, and EUR 50. When purchasing the card, you must top up a starting balance of at least EUR 5.
How To Check Your Credit Balance
- Once you have purchased at least one ticket with your prepaid card, the card will be displayed in the customer portal. Under "Devices", you can see your balance.
- You can also view your trips in the customer portal and get an overview of the costs.

Where can I get an RVV prepaid card?
Our prepaid card is available for a fee of EUR 5 at the RVV customer center and at selected ticket outlets in Regensburg and the surrounding area.

How can I top up my prepaid card?
You can easily top up your RVV prepaid card online at www.rvv.de/prepaid.
We can also add credit to your prepaid card at all RVV sales outlets where the prepaid card is available and at the RVV customer center.
You can choose from top-up amounts of EUR 5, EUR 15, EUR 30 and EUR 50. When purchasing the card, you must load a starting balance of at least EUR 5.
Where can I see how much credit is left on my prepaid card?
You can check how much credit you have on your prepaid card at our advance sales outlets where the prepaid card is available, or in the customer portal. Soon, the balance will also be displayed on the ticket terminal in the bus.

- Once you have purchased at least one ticket with your prepaid card, the card will be displayed in the customer portal (redirect to our partner Switchio). Under "Devices", you can see your balance.
- You can also view your trips in the customer portal and get an overview of the costs.
- Registration for the customer portal is not necessary. When logging in, simply enter the number and expiry date of your card.
I no longer need my prepaid card. Can I have the credit balance paid out?
YYou can only return your prepaid card at the RVV customer center. We will refund you the entire remaining balance on the card.
Which terms and conditions apply to contactless payment?
These General Terms and Conditions for the RVV Prepaid Card apply to the purchase of RVV tickets at ticket terminals on buses.
They supplement the General Conditions of Carriage, fare regulations, and fares of the RVV tariff in their currently valid version.
